Dress Code/Uniforms
Clermont State School has a clear Dress Code for Students which has been formally endorsed by the Clermont State School Parents & Citizen’s Association and complies with Education Queensland policy SMS-PR-022: "Student Dress Code".
Our school community expects that all students will wear the full school uniform with pride every day. Sanctions can be appied if students do not comply with the expected Dress Code. Please review the latest version fo the approved Dress Code here.
Absences
Any absence must be explained through a phone call or email to the office or by bringing a note to the class teacher. Prior notification of any lengthy absence would be appreciated. Any planned absence of more than 10 days must be approved by the Principal through an Exemption to State Schooling.
As per our attendance processes parents will be automatically contacted by SMS for any unexplained absence through the same day notification process. After a child has been absent (without explanation) for three (3) consecutive days or patterns of days. eg Three Mondays/Fridays, a ohone call to the parents will be made.
By law, all students must attend school unless excused by illness or family circumstances. Unsatisfactory or no explanations are deemed unexplained absences.
Parents and guardians are advised that the following process will be followed in cases of repeated unexplained or unsatisfactory absences.
Parents or guardians will be contacted by SMS to inform them when unexplained absences by students have occurred.
If there is a concerning number of instances of unexplained absences by a student, and if the principal believes repeated instances of erratic attendance or repeated late arrival at school is adversely affecting a child’s education, an investigative process is followed which may lead to 'failure to attend' processes beng implemented.
